DFW posted a promo video from the 70s a few days ago... Tons of 727s (including the Alexander Calder 727) and of course lots of footage of the Great Pumpkin, aka Big Orange, Braniff’s 747. Plus the 70s promotional film soundtrack doesn’t disappoint.

My grandfather worked for them, and I have an old CP Air uniform in my closet. I work at YYZ and occasionally I’ll wear it to work. It always puts a smile on the older people working there when I wear it. They did have a gorgeous paint job.

That’s awesome, always liked CP Air, and Canadian.  I found a bunch of my collection I had stashed at my folks’ place over Christmas - it has a ton of old CP Air/Eastern Provincial/Transair stuff. I’ll try to post a bit of it here.

That would be awesome ! I’ve always hoped to get my hands on a good quality CP Air 747 or 727 model. I jumped on the WestJet 767 model as I knew that would be short lived i their fleet, and I was fortunate enough to have my boss send me an Icelandair 767 Model.

This reminds me of some LAX promo films I have on VHS. One of the favorites is called ‘1980 IS TOMORROW’. Like anything with ‘2000' in the title, it is wonderfully, hopelessly dated.

Yeah, always liked CP’s color scheme but the only models I’ve seen are AeroClassics/Inflight , which are... not cheap. The Westjet 767s did look great, even if they were broken all the time.   Jealous of the Icelandair 767, they are a good looking airplane.

That was fun. All the 727s, and not a single 737 to be seen. Interesting. Braniff folded in 1982, so probably about a year, at most, after this video was made.
